The turn-of-phrase “10 years can happen overnight” is quite relevant to this recent kerfuffle with the ongoing peace deal with Ukraine and Russia. After a tempestuous meeting between Trump and Zelensky, one can say that this meeting had something “off” with it right from the get-go. Of course, I’m not talking about the 30-second to 3-minute clips shared on media, showing Trump berating Zelensky. If you watched the whole 49-minute video, you could see that Zelensky deserved every bit of vitriol in that meeting. Further research into this topic, you see that this vitriol from Zelensky was not ‘spur of the moment’ it was planned by outside actors, signifying that Zelensky had alternative plans before the meeting set to undermine the Trump deal.
The Meeting and Outcomes
Rude, shrewd, and arrogant is how I would describe Zelensky during that whole meeting. Trump held his tongue for almost 40 minutes as he was trying to describe a brokered deal for mineral rights in Ukraine, leading to ending the war and continued peace through diplomacy. Trump kicks things off welcoming Zelensky and laying out the big picture. You’d think Zelensky’d be grateful, right? Nope. The guy smirks – SMIRKS – like some B-list comedian who thinks he’s smarter than the room.
Trump throughout the whole meeting is discussing diplomacy and Zelensky’s body language cannot agree with it. The eye-rolling, the gesturing – any moment of Trump saying the war needs to end, Zelensky disagrees without chiming in, he needs more security investment – obviously referring to weapons, and potentially soldiers, on the front lines. This would be different if the U.S. has not already given $100+ Billion to Ukraine at the behest of American Taxpayers. Zelensky’s conduct was even noticed by Marco Rubio (which history serves is not the most ardent anti-war, anti-Zelensky guy as a senator), pointing out how Zelensky’s conduct was not appropriate in an opportunity to broker peace, and end the war – that’s what we want to do right…END THE WAR!
But of course, we all know that there are powers outside of the presidency and his administration that do NOT want an end to the war. The military industrial complex is real and even CNN recently supported this vision.
The Sabotage
Michael Goodwin from the New York Post explains in his article that the deal the Trump Administration proposed was doomed before Zelensky even stepped foot on the grounds of the White House. Before the Trump meeting, Zelensky met with some Democratic and Republican senators in a somewhat private meeting. Essentially what was told to Zelensky by these members of congress was to reject any deal that President Trump was willing to offer. Now why would they do that? Why would they sabotage any peace plan? Incoming British PM Kier Starmer and French President Emanuel Macron – who recently met with Trump to discuss Ukraine – just finished a meeting today with Zelensky securing a £2.2 Billion deal to buy missiles and air support from European partners.
This obviously reeks and in no way was this spur-of-the-moment. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was planned well in advance – perhaps going as far back when Trump won the election. Zelensky knew well in advance he had secured more funding outside of the US with European Nations and knew that he was not going to do the deal with Trump at the behest of all the diplomatic work done by the President and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
This is a Bad Precedent
This sets a bad precedent toward the peace deal ending, which I’m sure is what all the NATO leaders and the war mongers in Washington never wanted to begin with, after all, they profit from the pain and suffering of global wars. Also, is Zelensky such a low-IQ individual that he does not see that an economic agreement for mineral rights, in of itself, is a security agreement?
The truth is, Murphy, Klobuchar, Starmer, Macron, and the rest of them – they’re terrified of Trump succeeding. A peaceful Ukraine means no more excuses for their bloated budgets, no more power trips on the world stage, and no more shoving America into every foreign mess. They’re cooking up this underhanded deal to defy Trump because they know he’s got the guts to say “enough is enough.” He’s already changed the game – got Putin and Zelensky at the table, sidelined the war hawks, and put America’s interests front and center. But these saboteurs? They’d rather see the region burn than let Trump win.
Not only is this a detriment to the work of Trump, but this is also a detriment to Zelensky and the Ukrainian people as well. What this means is that the meat grinder of war continues, and many more Ukrainian and Russian lives will be sacrificed at the altar of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. They knew that Trump’s peace deal threatens their whole game, so they’re scheming behind closed doors to lock in more aid, more weapons, and more chaos before he can shut it down. It’s disgusting, and it’s a direct slap in the face to the voters who want this war to end – both as an example of morality to taxpayers and the human race in general.
